Naina Devi Temple (Bilaspur)

 

Sitting at a hilltop whose base is also home to Samadhi of bhagat jatt jeona morh, this templs is made on the place where the eyes of goddess Sati had fallen after Lord Shiva had carried her body throughout the world while mourning her death. This temple can be reached via a fun and thrilling cable car ride form where you will be able to savour some magnificent views of the valley below. Being a prominent shakti peeth, the temple witnesses a huge wave of crowd during the festival of sawan.

Temple Timings - 6 am to 10 pm

Jwala Ji Temple (Kangra)

 

This is also one of the other 51 shakti peeths which is spread all across the landscape of India. A visit here is said to rid you of all the struggles, meaning the end of all the sad and hard days and replacing them with lifelong happiness. The presiding deity has no idol or image but a continuously burning flame denoting the fire goddess, sati. This flame has never extinguished even after a lot of efforts made by outside invaders.

Temple Timings - 7 am to 6 pm

Chintpurni Devi Temple (Chintpurni):


Dedicated to mata Chintpurni devi this place is also one of the prime shaktipeeths which is dedicated to goddess Sati. It is believed that if you offer your prayers here with whole heart and with honesty then all your wishes will be granted. The temple is not only popular for being a prime centre for spirituality but it is also replete with picturesque surroundings. The temple also holds Hindu genealogy registers which are maintained by pandas.

Temple timings - 4 am to 11 pm

Chamunda Devi Temple (Kangra)

 

Located at a distance of 10 kms from one of the most sought after getaway destinations of Kangra, this temple stands majestically by the banks of the popular Bang Ganga river. The presiding deity inside the temple is that of Chamunda devi an incarnation of goddess sati, who is wrapped up in red cloth. Other images present inside the temple include - Lord Hanuman and Bhairo devta. This place is ideal for performing meditation and offering peaceful prayers.

Temple Timings - 6 am to 8 pm.

Hidimba Devi Temple (Kullu):

 

Built in 1553 and dedicated to Hidimba devi, who was married to the strongest of all pandavas, Bhim and gave birth to their son ghatotkach. The temple is nestled among a thick covering of enchanting cedar wood forest and giant deodar trees which makes this place worth the visit. The peak season for temple visit is during the festival of Navratri when the temple is thronged with a massive crowd of devotees and pilgrims from various parts of India.

Temple Timings - 8 am to 6 pm
